Ruby's parents fell into the Red World from 19th. century France. Growing up in this strange place, Ruby joins Slaa on a journey into the far reaches of the Red World where the inhabitants are almost creatures of fantasy. Drawings from her field notebooks are slowly being collected for a graphic novel.
